Mountain West Regional Events

USA Baseball is proud to present the Mountain West region of the National Team Identification Series (NTIS). Players from across your region will participate in selection events and tryouts with the aim of being named to the Mountain West 11U, 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U and 17U teams.

Six Teams (NTIS)

The six regional teams will then compete in their respective age groups against 15 other regions from across the country in the culminating NTIS event at the USA Baseball National Training Complex and adjoining Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C. in the fall of 2018.

National Team Development

From the final NTIS event, USA Baseball will invite a minimum of 66 players to future National Team Trials, National Team Development Program, and Tournament of Stars opportunities with the ultimate goal of being selected to represent our country as part of Team USA in 2018.

As the director of the Mountain West National Team Identification Series and representative of USA Baseball, I would like to invite you to use our video tryout process for the NTIS.  We are trying to find the top talent in the Mountain West Region and we are doing it through video analysis. The dates to send in your video for tryout is May 18th July 1st. Teams will be announced July 5.  Upon receiving your video, we will review your video and then issue invitations for Team Mountain West in Cary, NC.  Videos can be taken on your cell phone.  Here is how the process will work.

 

1 Register online at http://mountainwest.usabaseballntis.com

2 You will need to send a video of the following to info@mountainwestntis.com

A Hitting (10 swings from the open side of the hitter and 10 swings from behind the plate.

B Throwing - Throws from each of your positions / Pitching 10 pitches from the open side and 10 pitches from behind the                   plate

C Fielding 5 balls at you, 5 glove side, 5 arm side and 5 slow rollers. Infielders, 5 double plays.  Catchers, 3 throw to each base.

D Running Home to 2nd base (2 separate times)

3 Teams will be chosen from the videos and teams will be announced July 5th.

4 If you are selected, you will be sent a registration link for National Tryouts in Cary, NC the following dates:

 

13U (born in 2005) August 8-12, 2018

11U (born in 2007), 14U (born in 2004) & 17U (born in 2001) August 22 26, 2018

15U (born in 2003) & 16U (born in 2002) August 15 19, 2018

 

5 Cost by round

              Round 1 Video Tryout - $150.00

              Round 2 National Tryout (Cary, NC - USA Baseball training complex) - $300.00

              Team USA All expenses paid
